ABOUT US
Lakeside
Players began in 2006 as way for Niagara talent to find
a home on a Niagara stage. It started as an idea
shared by actor/directors Paul Wintemute, Tim
Denis and
Brian DiMartile along with actor Tracy Mitchell.
That first season saw the group stage a series called “Simon
In The City”…a celebration of the comedy genius of
Neil Simon. We settled into a home at the Port
Mansion Theatre and successfully brought many local actors
and backstage talent together with a single and very simple
goal…to showcase our best local talent AND entertain
audiences from across Southern Ontario and Western New York.
The name of the game was…and remains…entertainment.
Since that first season Lakeside has called on the backstage
talents of
Barb and Bill Barber and added the dynamic
production talents of Lynda Ceci to continue our
mandate as we have added the comedies of Canada’s Norm
Foster, Buffalo’s A.R. Gurney and many others to
four successful seasons at Port Dalhousie.
As we head into 2011, our
sixth season, we hope that you’ll join us as we
present two comedies new to the stages of Niagara...Breaking
and Entering and Norm Foster's Office Hours.
There are some exciting things happening for next
year. Check back here for some big
announcements very soon. On
behalf of Paul, Tim, Brian, Lynda and all of
our family…welcome to
Lakeside Players.
